Matt Leech was appointed in September 2022 as the President and CEO of Ports America, the premier terminal operator and stevedore in the United States. Operating in more than 33 ports and 70 locations, Ports America handles all types of cargo, including container, bulk, breakbulk, auto/RoRo, military and cruise.
Prior to joining Ports America, Matt spent 18 years with DP World as a key executive in multiple roles driving sustainable growth. He began his career in the container transportation logistics industry more than 27 years ago, when he joined Sea-Land Service focusing on strategy, planning and analytics. After the sale of Sea-Land in 1999, Matt became part of the leadership team of one of the spin-off companies, CSX World Terminals, where he led the expansion of the overall business including a key role in the sale of CSX World Terminals to Dubai Ports International. Following a relocation to Dubai in 2005, he was a member of the executive team that established DP World and led the firm’s global expansion until 2009 as Senior Vice President – Business Development. Matt also led the DP World Americas Region as CEO and Managing Director on two separate assignments and served as Chief Operating Officer for DP World’s ports and terminals.
Matt is an MBA graduate from The University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business and holds a B.A. from Georgetown University.
