Congratulations to the following Ports America terminals for being recognized not only for their dedication and commitment to safety, but for their impressive reductions and lowest lost time accident frequency rates within their port and region. Through continuous safety consciousness and diligence, Ports America has helped save lives

The Port of New York and New Jersey – New York Shipping Association (NYSA) Awards
Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT) received the 2016 safety award for both Lowest Lost Time Accident Frequency AND the Greatest Reduction in Lost Time Accident Frequency for Group A ( those terminals with more than 1 million man hours).

PNCT also received the NJ Governors industrial Safety Council award for reduction of Lost Time Injuries for the second year in a row. The council is a state agency that promotes safety for all industries in New Jersey.

Port Newark Auto Terminal (PNAT) received the 2016 safety award for both Lowest Lost Time Accident Frequency AND the Greatest Reduction in Lost Time Accident Frequency for Group B (those terminals with less than 1 million man hours). In addition, PNAT recorded ZERO LTI’s in 2016.

Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) Area Coast Accident Prevention Committee Safety Awards
Ports America in Los Angeles received 2nd place in the PMA’s 2016 Coast Accident Prevention Stevedoring Awards for Group A (400,000 or more man-hours).

Ports America in Vancouver received the PMA’s Oregon Area Safety Award for Reduction in Injury Rate for 2016, as well as 1st place for the Pacific Northwest Area (Group B Stevedore) and Accident Prevention (Group B Stevedore).
